My name is Luba Gankin, I speak four languages, live in Boston and am in love with Italy! I always had a passion for bringing people together and I am exploring creative ways to do it in my role of Event and Wedding planner, focusing on – but not limited to – beautiful Italy and charming New England.
Luba, how did your idea of becoming a wedding planner come about?
I’ve loved weddings since I attended my first one at the age of 3. I still remember the bride in her wedding dress and the glass of Champagne I was trying to get for myself, fascinated by all these bubbles!
I am a Ph. D. scientist and worked as a program manager at an innovation technology company for many years, but I always loved planning events for my family, friends, and colleagues. A few years ago, I decided to follow my passion and created Primavera Dreams.
My company is a story of hard work, dedication, and success. I am now an award-winning Certified International Events & Weddings Planner, a Certified Luxury Wedding Planner, and a Certified Wedding & Events Design Specialist.
Your site is called Primavera Dreams. Why?
Primavera Dreams means “spring dreams.”
I love the Italian Renaissance painters. “Primavera” by Botticelli is one of the most inspiring paintings for me, and I always visit it when in Florence. Besides, Spring is a season of nature’s awakening and love.
When people decide to get married, it usually means they are genuinely in love, and I wanted to reflect on all these meanings.
The name and logo of my company are inspired by spring, youth, love, beauty, and Primavera by Botticelli!
Where do you usually organize your events?
I am in love with Italy, speak fluent Italian, and organize weddings there for my couples. Most of my couples get married in Tuscany, but Amalfi Coast, Puglia, and the North Lake region are also quite popular destinations for weddings in Italy.
What are the services you offer?
I offer full-scale planning services and design for weddings and other celebratory events, such as milestone birthdays. I help my couples to find the perfect venue and all the vendors they may need. To develop their unique vision and to make sure we will realize it. To plan activities for a multi-day events. To create a truly exclusive and enchanting experience for them and their guests.
Italy is full of fantastic options for everyone: beautiful nature, culture, vineyards, wine tasting, car racing, shopping, music, incredible food. I help my couples, and their guests experience these wonderful things.
What do you love most about your job?
I love both: the planning process and my couples.
Planning a destination wedding takes time, thoughts, and a lot of attention. During this time, my couples and I get to know each other quite well, create and sharpen our vision, and become friends.
My goal is to build an effective and friendly team with my couple and with other vendors.
The fantastic celebration at the end, my happy clients and their guests, incredible memories that I help create – these are the essential components of my profession, and I love them dearly
